Platevio

Terms of Service

These are the terms for using Platevio. They are written to be read rather than skimmed: what we provide, what you keep, what each of us is responsible for, and what happens if either of us wants to stop.

Who you are agreeing with

Platevio is run by Codegineers LLC, a company registered in Texas, United States, and Platevio is its registered trade name. Codegineers LLC builds and runs the Platevio app and the service behind it, and it is the "we" throughout these terms. "You" is the business that uses Platevio and the person who signs up for it on that business’s behalf.

What these terms cover

The Platevio app at app.platevio.com, the Platevio apps for phones, tablets and computers, the Website Platevio publishes for a restaurant, and this site. By creating an account or using any of them, you accept these terms. What this site measures about its visitors, and how to have an account deleted, is set out in our privacy notice.

Platevio is for businesses

Platevio is a tool for running a restaurant, café, bar or similar venue, and these terms are a business agreement. To sign up you must be at least 18 and allowed to accept these terms for the business you sign up for. If you invite staff, you are responsible for giving them the roles they should have and for what they do in Platevio.

Your account

Keep your password and your PIN to yourself, and tell us at support@platevio.com if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens in your account and in every restaurant you own on Platevio. The details you give us, such as your name and email address, should be true and kept up to date.

What it costs

Platevio is free today: every feature, with no card required. If we ever decide to charge for something, we will tell you at least 30 days before it applies, and nothing will be charged to you unless you agree to it first. Until then there is no plan, no invoice and nothing to cancel.

Your restaurant’s data stays yours

Your menu, your orders, your tables, your staff list and everything else you put into Platevio belong to you. You give us permission to store, copy, display and send that data only as far as running Platevio for you requires — showing your menu on your Website, a new order on the Kitchen display, a day’s sales in your reports. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not hand it to anyone else except where the law requires it.

Your menu and your Website

You decide what your menu and your Website say, and you are responsible for it: the prices, the descriptions, the allergen information and the photos you upload, and for having the right to use them. Your customers rely on that information, and so does the law where you trade. We may remove content that is unlawful or that breaks these terms, and we will tell you when we do.

Taxes and the rules where you trade

Platevio records your sales and the payments you take. The tax you charge, the invoices and receipts you are required to give, and any certified register or approved software the law of your country requires stay your responsibility, and where such a device or software is required, you run it alongside Platevio. Check what applies to you with a local accountant, and keep the records your tax authority asks you to keep.

Your hardware and other services

Platevio runs on the phones, tablets, computers and printers you choose, over your own internet connection. Card payments go through your own card machine and payment provider: Platevio records what was paid, and your provider moves the money. Those devices and services are not ours, their own makers’ terms apply to them, and we are not responsible for how they work.

Using Platevio fairly

Do not use Platevio for anything unlawful, or to store or publish content you have no right to. Do not try to break into it, overload it, or get at accounts or data that are not yours. Do not copy, decompile or reverse engineer the software, collect data from it by automated means, or resell Platevio or offer it under another name. Do not pretend to be someone you are not.

What we promise, and what we do not

We work to keep Platevio running and your data safe, and we fix what breaks. But Platevio is provided as it is and as it is available, without any guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suited to a particular purpose, and with no promised uptime. It needs an internet connection to work, so plan for the moment yours drops.

The limit on our liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Platevio, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to US$100. Some laws do not allow these limits; where they apply, our liability is limited to the smallest amount they allow.

The software and the name

Platevio, its software, its design and its name belong to Codegineers LLC. While your account is open, you may use Platevio for your business under these terms. Nothing in them gives you any other right to the software or the brand.

Ideas you send us

If you send us a suggestion, through the app’s feedback or by email, we may use it to improve Platevio without owing you anything for it. Thank you for it all the same.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Platevio at any time and have your account deleted: our privacy notice says how, and what is deleted. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk, or delete it, telling you first where we reasonably can. If we ever close Platevio itself, we will tell you at least 60 days ahead, so you have time to copy what you need.

Apps from the App Store and Google Play

If you install Platevio from Apple’s App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and Codegineers LLC only. Apple and Google are not responsible for Platevio, its support or any claim about it, and the rules of the store you got it from apply as well. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms against you as far as they concern the app you installed from Apple.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date above changes with them. If a change matters to how you use Platevio, we will email the address on your account at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Platevio after that, you accept the new terms; if you do not accept them, you can have your account deleted.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States. Any dispute about them or about Platevio will be decided by the state or federal courts located in Texas, and both of us accept those courts’ jurisdiction. These terms are translated into every language this site is published in; if a translation and the English version disagree, the English version applies.
